Update...so I ended up removing the switch..cleaning it up and viola...it worked again...moderator please close this thread.

On a 1970 convertible ( I have owned 4 or 5) there is a circuit breaker for the top..........never seen a fuseable link for the top circuit......
All the wiring on these cars from circuit breaker through firewall uncut and looks original....

all my 70 convertibles were built Sept thru June..........so maybe a fuseable link on early ones?....
I think Osborne assembly manual shows the above circuit breaker too
