Correct mounting for '65 A-code coil
« on: March 07, 2014, 02:40:46 PM »
In an earlier post, it was pointed out that the coil on my '65 GT was not in the correct position (nor was it a yellow top) and should be in front of the right cylinder head. Can anyone offer a picture showing this and how it mounts? Thanks.

My coil is mounted in the same location I think and as I remember a pain to mount the bracket and coil to the head.  Am I doing something wrong ?  Yes, I know, not quite MCA correct.  Brian

Mounting the coil in that location is usually a little tough with the heater hose being so close.  I use a 1/4" ratchet with a short 9/16" socket on a swivel head.  Usually able to get it going, but can get aggravating.

Thanks for the reply.  I thought it was a bit more difficult than it needed to be.  Brian

Yes, very nice.  Sad that the owner passed away before enjoying it.  :'(
