That's what makes all the difference between a regular resto and Gold class resto. Back in the 80's, it was the first time I saw anything like this. It was a Yellow Boss 302, the front wheel had been replaced by this bolted on chrome stand, so that one could easily see under the cars' fender. I remember telling my friends about this car, it had red oxide and black paint and yellow paint and seam sealer and overspray and paint marks and even a patch of
rust. There was a red or burgandy Boss 9, if I recall correctly, beside it. And the judges were scrutinizing the door hinge bolts, trying to find something they could deduct a point on. They were both just beautiful cars. I remember talking to this guy, Bob Perkins (I didn't know who Bob Perkins was). I said to him, "I don't mean to be rude but how can you call these cars Gold class when you have rust under the fenders and this one has paint drips under the hood?" He replied, "
