Correct wire tag attachment
« on: January 13, 2014, 03:29:33 PM »
Hi me again,

i bought some wire tags from npd. Now, i just want to make sure how to attach them.
I found one picture only of a repro jumper wire with a repro tag on it. Is this the correct way to put the tags on?

Thank you

Depends on the year your working on and what label - you had the identification label and on many of the looms an assemblers label (normally all white with a number)

If you can provide specifically each loom and what year we might be able to help with some or all. Some can be a real pain to install if your adding them after the fact - car already together :(

I took an original tag off my horn jumper wire & gave it to ecs along with many other assembly line only wireing harness tags years ago to make & every one of these orange tags I seen were between connectors NOT like in your photo.  The reason you don't see the tags on all of the wires is because of a vendor ID thing as the other version of this wire has the ID eng# printed on the wire & the tag version had no wire printing on wire to ID it so a tag was used & this is common practice on other ford wiring as well. Also you will notice between the 2 wire vendors the color of wire blue & white verses all blue with yellow thin stripe.
