Water Pump
« on: December 19, 2013, 07:32:30 PM »
C6OE-A, boxed FoMoCo and no casting date.  Probably came off of a 66, San Jose, 289 automatic.  This is the first, I think, cast ford part I have come across without a casting date.  Have I got a service part, a assembly line part, or no date is the norm for this part ? Thanks,  Brian.

The C6OE was replaced in 1968 by the C8 cast body so any C6OE body should be good. They do not have a date code.

What style impeller does it have?

No date is the norm for C6OE-A.  Nothing exciting behind the back plate ?  Brian

Stamped steel impeller means it has been rebuilt at least once. Original impellers, and some older rebuilds, were cast iron discs; 4-hole, 8-vane standard pump; 3-hole, 6-vane HiPo pump. It always pays to take the plate off, you never know if a HiPo impeller might be there...
