1969 and 1970 Front License Plate Bracket - Guide

Put together a guide for the front license plate bracket with the different versions and the correct hardware to be used.  Full article can be downloaded and viewed here.  Questions or comments let me know.....:

Marcus, Thanks for the guide. It is my understanding that SJ cars used slotted screws to attach the plates to their holders. Happy Holidays Lu

Nice atricle. I have heard Ed explain it to me before again and AGAIN ,but your condensed explaination is better because it didn't include all of the off subject tangents, Gaines bet cha didn't know this ,etc. etc.  ;D  ;D

anybody know why some OE brackets had the X stamp? Anybody also know when the screws changed to phos & oil & when the head marking changed to MI from the triangle.  After sending the triangle screw to max amk 4 years ago I finally got him to make them & just got a sample & they are perfect & concours correct & it is in saac rules for points

I took a look at all the brackets I have and the X stamp was used sometimes on the first and second version of these brackets.  I was hoping only to find it on the first versions.  And since all brackets are from the Dearborn stamping plant...cant say why its there sometimes.  Not sure that detail means much of anything to determine an original.  Don't have a theory on that one.
