1965 rally pac question
« on: November 28, 2013, 03:35:27 AM »
Hi I have a 8k rally pac on my car, it is a high profile and my car was built on July 12.  Since my car is a gt (5 gauge cluster), should I have the low profile one. Also my doesn't say rally pac in the center and says ford on the tach. Was this dealer installed item? Did the ones that said rally pac from the factory?

Thx

The ones with 'Ford' on the tach were typically dealer items.

A low profile would be most common for cars with a 5 dial cluster.

Also, wouldn't he need a 6k tach if it is not a K-code motor?  My understanding was only the k codes got the 8k tach...

As mentioned earlier the low profile rally-pac was normally used with the five dial instrument cluster starting with G T or deluxe interior Mustangs in 1965. I believe that all low profile rally-pacs had FORD on the tach face. The high profile rally-pacs typically had Mustang on the tach face when factory installed and Ford on the tach face when dealer installed.
