What colour should my heater hose elbow be on my 1968 CJ car at the front of the intake...

Painted with the engine so block color.

Normally spots were hoses were attached had boots over them when they were painted so you can sometimes find a bare area at the ends (radiator hoses and heater attachment points)

This helps with sealing
