Topic: 1969 Mustang rear Bumpers

Were can one get a really good Non-NOS rear bumper for a 1969 Stang or are they all the same out there.

I would try to find a STRAIGHT original core with maybe some rust pits or dings and have it re-plated. I know it's getting hard to find local chrome shops but that would be my best suggestion. I used a  NORDAN bumper  on the rear of a 67 and was pleased with the fit however it was much lighter than the original.

Don't know of one but honestly have not purchased one in years. At that time all the replacements IMHO were too wide and the ends stuck out a little more than I liked.

And yes - as mentioned_ much lighter.

Just found out last week that my local yard dumped/scrapped all their original bumpers (couple of hundred) got tired of them

Wished I had know before hand - purchased a dozen or so over the last year (dated and pretty straight - no real rust out here)  for $20-30 ea

But them again I don't know if I wanted to get into the rechromed original bumper biz either

Jeff, the sad thing is salvage yards across the country are scraping many of their old inventory as scrap value is so high and rather than sit on these parts for years as before they crush them.  A  lot of good parts on older vehicle will be scrapped and shipped to CHINA, and that's just sad

Got mine from NPD. Seems to be a pretty good bumper, I like it. I show my 69 mach1 in MCA concours driven and seems to always get the points.  JMO
