First post, first pony!
« on: May 26, 2013, 01:26:05 AM »
Hello everyone, my name is Dan and I am in the Seattle, WA area. I wanted to drop in and say hello, I have been browsing these forums for tips and direction for some time as I have been looking for a first gen mustang for about a year now. Well I have come across a mustang that I pulled the trigger on and thought I would drop in and say hello! I will be into this mustang for quite some time it seems, and I am very excited to get started. I just got it home today, pulled the seats out, preparing for a deep cleaning to start!

My VIN is: 5F07D139865

Perhaps some of you more experienced folks can help me decode the VIN a little, it is a 64.5 built I think in MI, it does have the 289 (so says the tag) with generator and 4 barrel carb. To my knowledge this makes it an accurate D code car? Any light that anyone can shine on this for me would be much appreciated thank you :)

Looking forward to reading, learning, and sharing more as I go along!

~Dan

Welcome to CMF. You will find loads of info from a lot of people here.

Yes, you indeed have a Dearborn built (F code), 289-Early D code 64 1/2, coupe(07) Mustang.

If so, when posting info, please give all info you possibly can, i.e., build date, plant(which we know is Dearborn), and any other pertinent/unique information about your Mustang.  That will help tremendously.

Again, Welcome to the best website for your concours restoration.
