Part ID ?
« on: June 05, 2013, 04:46:24 PM »
Have a couple of parts here but not sure what they go to. They may be alternator related but don't know for sure.  So If anyone has an idea please chime in.  The bolt has a head stamping ' 9.8 ' and a logo letter ' C ' surrounding the letter ' H '.  The spacer has the boxed ' FoMoCo ', has an opening of 1/2", is 3/4" long and the same wide.  Look familiar to anyone ?  Thanks,  Brian

Bryan,
The head marking of 9.8 is typical on metric hardware. The space could be smog or air conditioning related.

Seen the spacer (depending on length, to off set adjustment arms (alternator or Thermactor pump) and mounts- Can't remember the exact place and application would guess that a few of them will show up in the pictures of the B Manuel small block book. Have maybe a dozen or so in my sorters'

Thanks for the replies.  The 9.8 bolt is likely metric.  Of interest is the .8 it has a flat top as seen on some 68 VIN tags.  The spacer probably has several uses.  I've been told AC systems required one as well. Brian
