This year the Reno Mustang Car Club hosted the MCA National Show Unbridled Spirit 2013, June 7-9 at the Boomtown Casino in Verdi, Nevada just west of Reno. This was my first event in many years. My Mustang wasn't entered as it is still in a non-driveable condition. I spent several hours at this show on Saturday. There were alot of Mustangs representing all the years. Stock Mustangs, GT's, Bosses, California Specials, Stocks, restomods, drag cars etc.
I went there looking for restored cars 64.5 to 66 that were stock with the 170/200 6 cylinder engine.I wanted to get some ideas/photos of how people have restored their cars back to showroom or a concourse condition. I was surprised to find that there were none at this show.
Every car I looked at had the V8's, is this typical? There were cars from all over the West Coast and I saw two cars from the Mid West..In my opinion this was a small show. I know the V8 is popular and a much better power plant then the 6's I thought there would have been a couple. Are the 200 6's not represented at these shows?
There is another show in Sacramento, California about 125 miles west of Reno on the 22nd of June. I'm thinking of heading over the hill to take a look.
Anyway, this is by no way a compliant only an observation and comment.
