Phosphate parts, 70 Dearborn
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:57:31 AM »
I've seen posts on this topic and read through them, and have a pretty good idea of what parts on my Oct 1969 Dearborn-built 428CJ Mach 1 would have been zinc phosphate plated. But I'm not 100% sure, and I'm also hoping to avoid making the same mistake I made a little while ago. I had a bunch of parts done in zinc dichromate by a very good plater in Eugene, then discovered later that my door strikers and lower shift rod were also zinc dichromate..sigh. So since these are done on a batch basis, I don't want to make the same mistake!

Anyway, the parts I was going to send off for the zinc phosphate are:
-shock tower caps
-hood hinges and springs
-hood latch catch assbly
-throttle cable bracket
-coil bracket
-distributor hold-down bracket

and..the air conditioning compressor stand?

Thoughts on this list, and any omissions, much appreciated!!!
