Topic: 1969 Dearborn Seatbelt Bolts

I am replacing all of my front seatbelts with the correct 1969 style. I have two different types of bolts (see attached picture) and I'm not sure which one to use. One bolt has a smooth tapered hex head (bolt on the right in the picture). The other bolt is round on top with a star driver in the center (bolt on the left in the picture).

Which bolt should I be using? My Mustang was built in Dearborn on April 8, 1969. Thanks.

Well, until some one else comes along:  That star bolt on the left is on my 69 and the domed bolt on the right is on my 65. Neither car is a Dearborn model.   Brian

Thanks Brian. I took out the back seat to see what seat belt bolts were used as it looks like the seat belts are original back there. The bolts were the one's with the round head and the star driver in the middle. So unless someone tells me otherwise, I'll use that type for the front as well.

ALL 1969 Seat Belt Bolts are the Torx Head Design. The Hex Head Bolt was discontinued roughly Early-Mid 1968 Model Year. Keep in mind that the Bolts are different between the Front Belts/Retractors, the Rear Belts, and the Shoulder Harnesses. Not all applicable to your Convertible.
