Sheetmetal stamp plant codes
« on: February 09, 2013, 12:34:33 PM »
I searched the forum and the web and was unable to find the answer to this.  But, if I somehow missed it, forgive me for this question.  I found 2 sheet metal date codes with plant codes I can't identify.  One is an "L" and the other is an "R" (maybe San Jose?).  Anyone know what stamping plants these are?  Thanks!  Pics below:

Thanks, Charles.  Saw that site but no "L" or "R" listed in his chart for stamping plants.   ???

Might have something to do with orientation on the car...

Have seen orientation stampings - some years, from some stamping plants. In general I've found them on interior and trunk panels

That would make sense.  These are the package tray support brackets on a coupe.  I can totally see them being stamped for orientation.  As a matter of fact, the passenger side has an "R" stamped above the month digit.  Thanks gentlemen!
