1965 Convertible Wheelhouse Material
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:31:33 PM »
There is a pad/felt material on the top of the wheelhouse on the convertible. Can anyone help with the type, thickness and color?

Mine were made out of the same exact thickness/product/color as the padding sold by NPD that goes under the vinyl upholstery on 65/66 convertible quarter trim pieces.

It had a mint green coating only on the upper surface.  I duplicated that with latex paint, thinly brushed on one side.

This is the padding I used.

Check out this Mustang being built on Virgina Mustang's Blog.  This is being performed by Maple Hill Restoration.  Excellent work and great documentation!
