1965 Jack
« on: January 27, 2013, 01:13:27 PM »
Hi,

Im looking to purchase a scissor jack for my 1965 mustang san jose built car.  I found one but could't distiguish the year, he said it was NOS?  Does anyone know which year this is from?

Thanks,

Mark

What year, no.  But it looks just like what's in my 1966 GT's trunk!

Hehe, sorry I fixed my post...the owner said it was NOS.  65 and 66 were the same?

I don't know if they were the same.  My 66 is an early run so they may have just stuck in there what was still on the shelf.

Do you have any numbers off the jack?  That will help ID it.

Since these were provided by an outside vendor they are not normally (haven't seen one yet) with engineering numbers

Ok thanks, are there ways to tell if its reproduction or a true nos jack?  Do the 65 jacks look like this one?

The simple answer is yes - Ford used a lot of different suppliers for "items", jacks included. I have a GM marked jack that, without the GM ID, it would easily be mistaken for a Ford jack.

I heard something about the suppliers changing from a course to a fine thread....
