Topic: Coupe roof rail weatherstrip question

hi all,
I'm getting ready to install the RR weatherstrip and from all that I've read and seen of pictures, there's supposed to be a screw in the front door jamb below the window pillar.  Not only can I not find evidence of a screw hole, but in my baggie of rr screws, I do not have this extra screw.

Did all early '65 coupes have the screw?  If not, do I cut the end off of my weatherstrip and just snag it on the 'spike'?  Do I use any adhesive at the spike to hold it in place?

Early cars didn't have the tab or screw.  That style used until at least the beginning of 1965 calendar year.

So should I cut the end off, put some of the yellow adhesive on the end and stab it onto the spike?

Cut out the tab and install with just glue.

My January '65 Dearborn convertible--no screw and no tab.

You might consider double sticky tape, the gray type which is formulated for outdoor use. I used some to attach a chrome trim piece on a Hyundai that came loose. I think it's a 3M tape but the package is gone. Don't use the white double sticky as it's not as strong.

I like that idea!  I know I'd be wearing the yellow adhesive for a couple of days...
