Nice, thanks for sharing.  Looks like your rotation number on the back panel, 470 or 490?  Same number written on bottom of the hood, on seats, etc...  You might find the last 2 digits written on the side of the fuse box.  Look for a '4' written in the LH side door jamb.

Yes, this matches the 470 marked on the seats, have to check the hood properly...

Haven't seen this before and it's not on my 65 Dearborn car.  How common was this and how was it done on a black interior?

Very nice original car. Thanks for sharing!

Here are some markings we found on the car...

What is the cars VIN or at least Month, year and assembly plant - please ;)

Without that ... well you know

Guessing 65-66 San Jose production C or A code conv

Split the thread since it was going (with your post) in a different direction with a different car

Haven't typically found these (rear of car, seats, hoods.....) on 65-66 Dearborn cars, seats and other pieces were marked differently (at the subassembly points) there than at San Jose. Seems, from the original pictures of the line they attached buildsheets front and back (writing the second rotation number on the front crossmember)  rather than writing on the body

The car is an early 66 from San Jose it's an A Code convertible, Jeff your not bad.
I couldn't find any marking on the base of the hood but I have attached a pic of the door plate and the vin
and a few more markings that I found, if you could shed some light on them that would be great especially the last one.
