Shock Tower VIN stampings
« on: January 15, 2013, 12:42:22 AM »
My VIN stamping on a NJ 1969 SCJ (24 Dec 68)is stamped on top LH side front inner apron - not on top of each side shock tower's...I had this on a 68 Gt that i restored (same plant) several years back as well.  Any thoughts on this?  Also, where should the body buck tag be located??

First - would not suggest mixing in other years in the discussion (apples and oranges ;)

Given your year and plant we would not expect the VIN's to be stamped in the shock towers - that is a practice for other plants.

Typically (from the ones I've got pictures of) front inner fender aprons both sides was the norm there and that year.

Also, where should the body buck tag be located??

Attached to the inner fender panel/apron passenger side rear top surface (plate attached so it can be read from the passenger side)  at the hood hinge
