Got a little time to introduce myself, now! I've driven only 1965 & 66 Mustangs since I turned 16 in 1977. (I'm 49 now) 1st car 65 6 cyl coupe. 2nd car (Same one I have now) 66 C-code Automatic Metuchen Convertible Nightmist Blue. Sold it in 1980, bought it back in 2009. Picture of me and it in 1979 is my avitar. 3rd car 65 C-Code Automatic Rangoon Red Dearborn Convertible, bought in 1981, restored to what I thought was Concours at the time between 1983 and 1989. Stolen in 1992 and I'm still looking for it. VIN 5F08C397821. I PLAN TO DRIVE AND ENJOY MY BLUE 66 CONV. FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS AND THEN DO A CONTEMPORARY 100% CONCOURSE RESTO. When I bought it in 1978 it only had 60,000 miles on it and had spent its' life here in the Atlanta area. I sold it to an Air Force pilot in 1980 and he kept it for 30 years before selling it back to me last September. He only put 15,000 miles on it in 30 years. Never let it get rained on. No water related rust anywhere. Not even any road grime underneath. Never been restored so all the factory details are still there. Original engine, transmission, rear-end, original maifolds with bolt clips still present. He did drive it with crumbling tailpipes and the Carbon Monoxide ate up the trunk floors and rear crosspiece. I just bought a 1-sided spot welder off Ebay so I can replace them so that not even experts can tell it has been done. My dad was body shop foreman at the local Lincoln/Merc dealership all my life. He's dead now but I grew up in his body shop, so that has helped me.
I got away from 'Stangs for years to chase my other passion, helicopters. I'm a Boiler/Pressure vessel designer by trade but a Mustanger at heart. Now ... enough toot'n my horn, let's MUSTANG!
