1967 Hood Hinge Question
« on: September 19, 2012, 12:03:12 PM »
I have brought NOS hinges but they don't have the cross hatch rivets.  I know there is a company called SMS in MA but my questions is are the other side of the rivets plan or are they swirled for a early 67 build date.

Thank you.

You don't mention what plant - just in case there are multiple suppliers or differences between the providers. Looking at early I can make out designs (circles within circles on early San Jose rivets ( inside "flat" surfaces)

Likely have more examples - but this is the first example I ran across. Design most noticeable in the bottom and upper left hand rivets in the picture

X rivets were changed over to mushroom dipple O style in sept 69 & used from there on into the 70s on assembly line.
