Hi,

I am looking at a San Jose 68 Coupe S Code 4 sp, limited slip differential, from DSO 73 (Idaho), build date 3rd apr 68..

There isn't any smog tubing etc. that could ressemble the photo of a posting I saw in the classified ads; http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j222/jatepper/craigslist/390exhaustemissions.jpg

Is that correct that it's not there for that DSO, or is it missing. Anyone has a picture of what should be the correct set-up for that DSO 73. That would help me to see if it's all there. I keep seeing that if it's missing, it's big buck to correct that.....

Thanks

DSO 73 is Salt Lake City  ;).

Thermactor smog systems were often removed by owners.
Does the engine still have the low mounting alternator bracket? are there plugs installed in the cylinder heads where the tubes would mount?

Oh its missing if not there - the emission standards for that engine was the same in all 50 states that year so it would ahve been a federal issue not to have it in place.

Shares many pieces with the 428 engine that year and the next. Good thing it that there were allot of cars built with the system (compared to other years and applications) and some of the pieces are available as reproductions - bad news it its not cheap :(  - so hope you get luck :)

Hi,

I did relook at it and indeed it was there long time ago and it is missing since at least 1990 I was told. Saw the pump mounting bracket still there. Also there are 8 plugs installed. So it would need a full system. Thanks for the inputs.
