1965 Equa-Lock 6 Cylinder Option
« on: April 03, 2012, 10:43:45 AM »
Was just wondering if anyone knew how limited the 6 Cylinder Equa-lock with a 3.50 gear set was in 1965 on a 6 cylinder? Car was built in Metuchen around May 1965. Also, curious if anyone would know the value of an NOS setup like this? Anymore info on the 6 Cylinder Equa-lock option would also be much appreciated.

Did you perhaps mean a 3.20 gear ratio? I'm only aware of the 3.20 and 2.83 gear ratios on the 6 cylinder.

A 3.50 rear end would be a HiPo.

Could be 3.27. The gear count is 36 tooth ring and 11 tooth pinion which comes out to 3.27. The gentlemen stated it was 3.50 gears, but the photo I can only make out the gear count as I have mentioned. See photo attached.

I have attached a picture I took of the NOS 6 Cylinder Equa-Lock Option that I have for those that have never seen it before.
