Jeff,I think he was focusing on the clues that are revealed about the tooling that the stamps were done with.
Yes thought it was interesting it was so deep and the tooling was visible. Had never seen one posted like it but since I posted this i did come across another while surfing. Interestingly, it was on the candy apple red fastback Charles restored. Which was built within days of mine at Metuchen. Stamp date on that one is 1 13 D3Tom
jeff.i actually have a image somewhere in my reference pictures that is from a original 66 front fender that also had a very deep stamping and tool marks on the starting end the same as from your first 2 images. from memory it is a dearborn car. hopefully i will find it soon and add to this post.
