Topic: 69 console restoration

I am restoring my 69 mach 1 console and noticed the inside of the glove box compartment has what a appears to be a spray on type felt. Anyone had any luck duplicating this? I looked around at some hobby & craft shops and found nothing, no help online either.

I used the flocking found in a local hobby store to patch my 66 console glovebox then got more, cheaper at an on-line store. That "store" seems to be no longer working, so here's another one -

Look under "Flocking Fibers". I don't know where the company is located.
To apply, use a cheap turkey baster to spray flocking over wet paint. Use a flat paint in the same color you want (flat black ?) as a base/adhesive. Allow to dry before lightly brushing out the excess. Save the excess for touch-ups.

THANKS JIM, Now I know the proper name for the procedure. I found a application video on youtube and it looks pretty simple

It's nice to know that my makeshift method was that close to what should be done (I forgot to mention masking in my procedure). I used what tools I had laying around (turkey baster) and did a practice flocking on a 6 X 6 X 6 cardboard box just to get the feel of what to do before I flocked the console glovebox. For the practice steps I used a light blue material (that's the only color the hobby shop had, then I got the black via the net) over a flat black base to determine coverage problems.
So, add those two steps to the procedure - do a practice run on a box - mask.
