Topic: 65 rocker moulding installation,and correct wheel

Don't know if this question has been ask before, but needing to know the correct way to install rocker mouldings on a '65 convertible. Also, would help for info on removal too. My friend purchased a new pair from NPD and is needing some help with installation. Thanks for any help from Charles, Fred, Jeff or anyone else that would like to respond.

Also, what is the correct width and backspacing for the 14" wheels for the same Mustang. It's a V-8, with 5 lug, and was built in Dearborn. Again, thanks for any help.

Are these being added to a car that originally had them (rocker moldings) or is this a new installation?

Replacing old faded ones on the car now.

Did find some info on this forum from C. Turner and he mentioned that the repos are very fragile and easy to bend,even with a thumb.

I have put rocker mouldings on a 67 with exterior decor group and also on my Mach 1, but both applications had the plastic clips and was pretty easy when concentrating on what I was doing. We will be working with metal clips.

Yes, those repro moldings are real easy to dent up.  Have to have a soft hand.  I start at the top and try to roll them under on the bottom clip so they pop on.  If you use any force at all, it will cause a dent or ding.

Thats what I was thinking also. Like I say, I have put on some in the past, but the clips were plastic. and they were probably stronger metal. I may go ahead and use the clips that are on there. Hopefully they will be plastic.
