Was the clear/tint glass designation referring to the side glass only. My Mach1 has clear glass but a tinted rear glass. I thought all to be original having all the same dates but now wondering about the rear.

The rear is going to be tinted regardless of the front and sides. The sides and windshield will be all tinted or all clear depending the option. Bob

69 could come with optional tinted (band) front windshield and clear side glass, or tinted (band) front windshield and tinted side glass.
Like Bob says, the tinted rear windshield was standard.
Don't know when that started, I had a 66 Mustang fastback ages ago, and can't remember if the rear was tinted or not.
Elsewhere in the automotive world, the 66 Charger did not have a tinted rear windshield as standard, but 67 did.

I believe all 65-73 Fastback Rear Windows were SUN-X Tinted.
