66 Sprint new owner

Greetings from another new guy.  Recently found this excellent forum and have spent a few days reading posts. Bought this 66 Sprint last July and other than putting a carb kit in it so it would run without stalling, haven’t done much other than research and just driving it.  From what I’ve been able to learn, if I’m reading the codes correctly, (in my signature) it seems fairly early for a Sprint?
Thanks for your help, yet at risk of putting too many questions in one overly long post;
It’s missing the wire wheels.  I may have found a set of wires wheels locally, if they are correct.  Is there a link that shows the correct wheel/spinner/emblem?  Any advice what a used set should cost – with or without any curb rash?
I’ve seen posts referring to a buck tag and I don’t see one at the left inner fender where I think it’s supposed to be?  I understand from other posts that a San Jose car may not have a build sheet - and I haven’t found one – perhaps the same with the buck tag?
Although this car spent much of it’s life in Arizona and appears to have all of its original panels, interior and drivetrain,, I don’t believe it qualifies as a survivor as it was repainted in the ’80s and the thermactor system has been pulled - except for the remaining capped injection manifold, unused pulley on the crank and hose nipple on the back of the air cleaner housing, etc..  Have I read correctly that Ford initiated the removal of some thermactor systems as although they reduced one pollutant, that substantially increased another, or is that a myth? 
At this point I would like to get the car into a condition as it may have appeared as a well maintained common mans daily driver with a just couple years wear in the late ‘60’s.  Any resources that I could be pointed to with that intent would be greatly appreciated.

First welcome - glad you have found the site has value for you

Will address a couple of points but yes your correct its a little harder to get responses to "shot gun" post ;)

66 San Jose cars would not have received a buck tag

Its believed that San Jose production practices were different from the other two plans which means that the build sheets were rarely placed in the finished vehicle

Never heard that one  those same systems are still required for licensing in many states. Ford could not have initiated the removal since it was either a state or federal requirement (depending on year and engine type)

I'm a Sprint Owner, too.

San Jose didn't start using Buck Tags until a few years later. And although they used build sheets, they weren't so diligent about placing them in the car like Metuchen was. (Mine's a Metuchen build and has both a build sheet and buck tag)

Looks like your car is an automatic with the 3.20 rear end - a rather unusual combination as the 2.83 was the standard rear end for the automatic (the 3.20 was optional).

Interesting about the rear end ratio.  The car was delivered to Frank Taylor Ford in LA and the first owner lived 20 mi ESE in Hacienda Heights, which appears semi mountainous. Maybe he thought he needed the pull…
I wouldn’t have known this was an option.  How may I learn what else may be an option on the car – other than the Sprint package?  i.e.; it has its apparently original AM radio, which I presume was an option…

The Sprint Package B (automatic transmission) would have included the wire wheel covers, console, pinstripe with quarter accent delete, and chrome air cleaner with decal.  Yes, the radio would have been a regular production option. It's difficult to say if there are any other options without knowing more about the car.
Incidentally, the car has the same scheduled build date as my birthday, January 29th. The beginning of January is assumed to be the kick-off date for the promotion package, but some December, and possibly November, cars are said to exist.

Thanks Pete.  I have now found an options list here:

but oddly even this does not list the various rear end ratio options as I suspect the selection paperwork that the dealer must have provided to the original purchaser would, so I suspect it isn't complete.  As best I can tell the only original options selected were the Sprint package B as you listed (C4) plus 2-speed wipers, tint band on windshield, AM radio and the 3.20 rear end.  - just fun to know.  Another fun thing about this car that was built on your birthday is that is was purchased on Valentines day - gotta wonder if it was a gift.
