65-66 pony interior seat frame
« on: December 15, 2011, 11:57:22 PM »
I have another question about the pony interior on 1966 cars. I was told by someone in another forum, that the upper seat frame is designed a bit different for a pony interior car than for a standard interior. I know that the seat foam is different for a pony interior, but had never heard of the seat frame itself being different. I was told it has a slightly different shape so there is a slight space between the pony door panel and the seat back. Is this true? I know that if anyone would know it would be ya'll! As always thanks in advice for your input.

The same seat frame is used for both regular and deluxe interiors, it was the seat foam that was different. The 1967 seat frame was very similar to the 64 thru 66 except for the way the upper seat section outside trim was installed, different hole placement. There are differences in 64, 65 and 66 upper seat section inside trim holes too. There may be running changes and differences in different suppliers frames as well.
