First, all discussions are based on a 1968 1/2 dearborn built gt fastback with build date 4/24/68. Exterior is highland green and interior Standard parchment(2U). I am now in the process of restoring the car and am encountering much difficulty matching the interior parchment fabric to any known original sources. This cars interior is all original. The 68 ford dealer book show the sierra grain bolsters to be a parchment with a light print to them(parchment paper print). My original sierra vinyl is a base light tan with NO parchment light print on it. I thought that many years of cleaning/ light may have faded the print in these originals but after finding original virgin vinyl by unwrapping the seats I only find light tan with no print. There must be some knowledgable restorers out there with the same situation. Did ford switch its parchment in its later build cars.Is it a early vrs late vrs plant specific issue. What have others encountered with parchment interior on later build 68's. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Lu
