That raises an interesting question-at what point is a car-any car-just not worth the cost of restoration?  It seems by the time you are done with that one you are simply buying the VIN and title.

I would literally be afraid to lift that car on a 4-post lift like they're doing in one of the pictures.  I've never seen a car so rusty that the rear leaf spring shackles have nothing to bolt to.
Too much junk, too little time.

Unfortunately that car will sell for it's tags, title and mechanical items and be re bodied with a less desirable model that is solid. He is selling the tags & title and will throw in this scrap Heep for free.

Why? you can't transfer the VIN. OK Legally you can not.

I know its illegal to rebody a car. that said I'll bet there are THOUSANDS of high end collector cars that are rebodied including K code Mustangs, Shelbys, Corvettes, all kinds of vehicles, there is someone out there who WILL do it if anouther won't.

I have no doubt it will be rebodied, But if the person is smart they will not use a Dynacorn body. I bet there is a T or C code out there with this ones Vin soon to be on it.

No still can not do that. It is just as illegal to rebody a T, C, A, F, U code car as it is a K code. The law does not care about what motor was in the car. Dynacorn bodys are basically kit cars that the state (or what ever the law is in your state) will issue you a VIN for the car. It looks like a mustang, drives like a mustang, but does not have the VIN of a mustang. A good base for an all out restomod or raceing car (I know your not gonna race a vert).

If there is a rebody that T or C code will fade away into the night and the K will live on. The T or C vin aprons will get crushed with the body of the K after it gets picked clean. Someone with deep pockets may decide to rebuild it. It can be done but as I tell my students "Good luck with that."

Yes and once its found out it can get really messy. Earlier this year I was dealing with a fake a week for a while. Just the luck of the draw for a potential buyer and of course those that we ran away from may have found another buyer by now :(
