"I talked to Kevin Marti some time ago and he said it would show up on the reports as an option.  Bumperettes were included with the Wheel Lip Mouldings and not a stand alone option; so if your Marti report show Wheel Lip Mouldings you should also have bumperettes".

My front bumper guards were not options and do not show up on the Marti report, I also do not have wheel lip mouldings.

I'm beginning to think front and/or rears were added to cars with no specific reasoning.

Just FYI, my really late (2nd week of july,1968) metuchen, NJ, GT fastback (390,4sp,loaded...) Has no evidence of ever having either front or rear bumper guards. I also have a parts car ,302, sprint coupe (late metuchen car also) one owner, original paint. This car never had bumper guards on either end either. REALLY original car, REALLY rusty.......

IMHO I  think a company would have a reason rather than putting out thousands  or tens of thousands of dollars in cost when they didn' t need to. Given parts cost, shipping, inventory and installation

Would think there is a pattern, running change or something we just do not see or understand at this point

My guess is it would have coincided with the strike.  Lost the knee and pillar pads at the same time as well as the rear side marker lights sticking out.
