64 1/2 - 66 trunk tension rods, convertible vs others

FAM shows a small clip at the center of the rods on a convertible, not on other body styles for 64 1/2-65.  66 shows a "M" clip on non convertibles, no such clip on the convertibles.  Can anyone verify if these differences were put on production vehicles, and if so can anyone provide photos of these items that they would be willing to share for publication?  All sources would be noted, if desired.

They weren't typically used on convertibles, seen them on some coupes though.  Seen the 'S' clips on later convertibles.

Would the clip you are talking about be attached to the body?

Here's a clip on a 65 coupe. 

Interesting how there is a lack of paint on top of the rectangular openings at the top of the picture.
