'65 Trunk lock sleeve removal
« on: August 08, 2011, 10:27:48 AM »
I'm trying to replace a trunk lock sleeve (the outside chrome part) I have removed the assembly from the trunk lid and cannot figure out how to remove the lock cylinder itself to transfer to the new chrome sleeve-any suggestions??  Thanks!!

iirc there is a sunken pin that needs to be depressed. look it over and i believe you will find it..

Fred is right, there's a pin that you have to push down on to release the lock cylinder.

Guys, Thanks!! I've got it in front of me here and I'm seeing a small round pin looking thing on one side and a ring looking thing on the other side, I've tried putting a little pressure on the round pin and no movement-do I need to tap on it with a punch or something?? -looks so simple.........

the pin is spring loaded. put the key in & turn while pushing down.
