Watershield install
« on: August 02, 2011, 08:52:00 AM »
Getting ready to start installing interior trim. I believe that there are watershields at doors and below rear quarter windows? What should I use to hold them in place? Is there a product out there similar to the grey sealant that never dried similar to original?

I use 3M bedding and glazing compound, easy to apply with a caulk gun.

Charles, where do you find this. Is it in a caulking tube?

Yes, in a caulking tube.  Any of the parts vendors sell it and you can buy it locally at an auto parts store or paint-refinish supply store.

The 3M glazing sealant I used at the windshield looked like polyurethane and dries fairly solid but was somewhat flexible. Does that sound like the product? Black in color.

Probably the same stuff.
