69 grille opening paint detail
« on: October 07, 2024, 08:50:04 PM »
Where is the argent paint line of demarcation on the pictured 1969 grille opening molding?  Is it at the end of the yellow or gray arrow?  Is it a soft transition?  TIA

Believe you will find a soft transition line as if done with a mask not tape. Since its not tape I don't think you'll pin point an exact prefect edge of the paint. Sorry don't have a picture to illustrate

My car has a soft transition by the gray arrow for the most part. The passenger side horizontal is on the gray area. The driver side horizontal is on the yellow arrow. The curved pieces are the gray arrow on my car. I have had my car since 1979. I have never had a reason to refinish any of the Argent or gray color paint on my grill opening panels, my guess finish is likely original.  I think the photos of my panels are not good partly because of the current parking situation.
