Thanks Bob, will need to figure out how to polish without damaging the finish on the non brass housing and polish wheel hooking on to the nozzles,
I asked the question about the 1 D 2 nozzle markings and assume those define the hose connections, but what are they?
1 = ??
D = Distributor
2 = ??

I've got a Thumblers Tumbler that uses stainless steel pins and it does a great job of restoring these. The only problem is that it does make the brass shiny but with a little time it dulls down to a more natural look.

FYI the assemblyline original finish of the diecast body of the vacuum switch is a zinc dichromate just like the diecast body of a Holley carburetor. The process to restore could include a tumbler to prepare the surface (not typically) but there is more then one way to skin a cat as they say. After the surface is prepared the zinc dichromate is applied for the final factory looking finish.
