exhaust
« on: June 07, 2011, 06:06:14 PM »
I am entering a National Judged show as concours driven, if the exhaust is a custom exhaust (no crossflow muffler or resonators) but has the oem hangers and correct looking pipe in pipe tail tips.  Will there be a full deduction of points, or is partial credit given?

How does the points system for judging work?  I know it's based on 700 points, Do I just deduct for missing items and use the remainder as the score?  I have never had the privilege of attending such an event...

Thanks,

Its a graduated scale system. Lets say for example you have 8 points for exhaust, assuming you have an exhaust at all you cannot lose all the points. Different judges are different but if you had the correct H pipe, tips I would take off 4-5 points for no crossflow and no resonators . Don't forget the hardware counts as well. I assume you are talking LI show? I will be doing Tulsa so I don't know who will be judging Shelbys

+1 You are correct it is a 700 point sheet for concours cars and the deductions are added. In concours driven class the maximum deductions for gold are 35 for silver 70 and bronze 105. My wife Tari is the MCA national show secretary and she and I run the tally room. We are looking forward to the long Island show. See you there. Marty Rupp
