C4, 289 Pedal, trans carb linkages finish
« on: August 22, 2024, 07:36:43 PM »
I've been trying to put together how the various linkages between the accelerator pedal, the carburetor, the C4 transmission and the shifter should be finished. I'll list what I guess is correct and would appreciate the feedback of you experts out there. In searching other posts there have been different terminology for some parts, so I will use what I've found in the shop manual.

Transmission Manual Lever (bar from bottom console shifter to the trans control lever): Looks natural, maybe zinc plate with clear chromate?

Kick Down Lever Rod (from trans control lever to Bell Crank): Looks like zinc with clear chromate?

Bell Crank Assembly (carb rod pushes on this to activate the kick down): Natural? Zinc?

Carburetor Rod (from accelerator pedal linkage to the carb): Looks like zinc with clear chromate, but I've seen some photos of this as zinc with yellow chromate

Accelerator Pedal Linkage: Light phosphate and oil

Return springs: dark P&O?
