WTB 1969 Mustang Dearborn Shock Tower Cap Mount Hardware
« on: July 19, 2024, 01:31:03 PM »
I have the caps but I am looking for a set of hardware (six bolts and six nuts) to mount a shock tower cap on top of the shock tower. This is for a April 69 Dearborn built Mustang.

Thanks.

As far as I know AMK is still selling the exact same as assemblyline hardware. The nuts are the most unique aspect of the hardware kit. NPD sells the AMK hardware

Thanks Bob, my originals were missing and I got more confused the more research I did. I just found them. Looks like AMK F-313. Ordering a set today.

George,
According to my notes, a New Jersey carriage bolt (378535-S2) was verified with a "L" marked head. Another note, but with no plant mentioned, says an "E" marked head.

Thanks Jim. When I search for "378535-S2" on the AMK site, it returns carriage bolt AMK # B-12743 which is what is included in the AMK "F-313" kit I ordered from NPD. The AMK website has some pics of this carriage bolt and the head is blank. Do you think a Dearborn carriage bolt should be lettered with an "L", an "E" or something else?

Still confusing to me but starting to make more sense (I guess).

Since these markings are not visible on an assembled car not many have paid attention or bother with recording them. Finish, length and thread pattern is more  a concern
