Please understand that brand and type of paint is somewhat region as far as what is available, legal and what painters are willing to apply. Unless your doing it yourself. Also what might have been recommended two years ago may no longer be available or is now illegal.
With that said I'll add this request to the best earlier thread on the subject to keep things organized, since some products may still be available for some members in the US and elsewhere while hoping that members sill share what they or the painters were successful with. Might end up with a list of what didn't work or look good that is much bigger than what did. Even that has value IMHO
I still choose SEMS Hot Rod black as suggested in the earlier threads. As mentioned its a bit soft, but is very easy to fix for any scratches or bumps that may take place
Others liked Ditzler 9000 Here is a cross reference page for that product. Hope its correct. Some believe that it is the original paint used at one or more plants
Of course since the removal of lead from the paints they don't hold up as well as they once did but then again they are seeing the use and abuse they did either after restoration
