'65 Horn Date Codes
« on: November 01, 2009, 01:37:49 PM »
I've got my January '65 horns cleaned and painted.  To do the date codes properly can anyone (Charles?) tell me the correct font to use when I get some rubber stamps made?  Also, any thoughts on why the "A" is upside down? (The date codes are 5A14C on the Lo horn and 5A14b on the Hi horn)

I have a template made and ready to send to the rubber stamp shop.  I have 5A14C and 4M29C.  Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll shoot it over to you.  Keep in mind that this may be specific only to San Jose at that time in production.

In general many of the fonts originally used are not available any longer so you are forced to use something close or make/modify your own. Since the letters and numbers (in this example) don't often line up you will need to make the design up yourself and find a stamp company that will do camera ready or a similar process

I would start with a arial narrow and modify it from there

Thanks for the help guys.  As anything with these Mustangs, it's never a straight forward deal is it?! :D
