I just went and checked out a friend's original paint 68 GT 390 survivor. It is a great example as it is well persevered and is all intact. I took a bunch of photos for reference, but need to go back for more as I realized I did not take enough photos. This has resulted in the realization that I have a lot of work ahead of me correcting things on my car.
One thing I noticed is the oil dip stick. I never noticed before that the dip stick has a bracket on the body/sleeve. Not sure how or why the dip stick on my car was installed without the bracket, but here we are.
So now the hunt begins to try to find an original dip stick. Just want to make sure before the hunt begins that the dip stick with the bracket is correct for my car. I believe my friend's survivor is
Metuchen NJ car, but will confirm that next visit.
