convertible weatherstrip fastener finish

 I looked at '69 and '70 unrestored Dearborn convertible pics and couldn't find my answer. There is a nut and a washer that hold the vert weatherstrip to the car. What I bought from NPD is shiny zinc. Should they be painted black? Thanks
