I'm using the stock Ford Hurst shifter bucket and the stock ford linkages. The shift linkage I believe to be correct for 1970 4-speed big block 3rd/4th gear is D0ZA-7326-E. Using a linkage stamped with that PN, it is physically impossible for me to route it as shown in the (fantastic!) pdf you provided. The D0ZA-7326-E linkage I have will work, but it would connect to the 3rd/4th gear lever (at trans case) from the opposite direction as shown in your pdf.
I am totally stumped. The D0ZA-7326-E linkage I have is not new... it's old, pitted and worn, hence I doubt it's an incorrectly manufactured reproduction.
I'm trying to figure out if there's an application wherein the D0ZA-7326-E rod I have is correct.
Are there any 428 owners out there who could comment on the routing of their 3rd/4th gear linkages?
