65 Transmission
« on: November 23, 2013, 07:05:02 PM »
Currently running a Borg-Warner 4 speed trans T-10, H-1, W.G. Div W1 xxxx? with a T-10, H7B W.G. Div. tailshaft.  Probably should have a Ford toploader, 4 speed HEH-BT ?  The Borg-Warner has been in the car for long time and may need to be replaced.  I would like to confirm with you guys the correct trans and tail shaft if possible.  Bell housing is a C5DA 6394 A.  Built about mid May, 1965, San Jose, GT.
The trans has a tag; HEK V and the shifter side plate reads T-10 148B  W.G.  DIV.  The Right/Passenger side reads T-10 H-1 W.G. DIV. W-1  4.  The date stamp reads 4 2 2.  The 4 may be an A.  Make any sense.  Thanks,  Brian

I know this is late, but I did a thorough inspection my B-W T-10 and it has the same numbers.
Right behind the side cover there is a flat area that usually has a number stamped into it.
Show us that number to decode the date.

The output shaft prior to and including 1965 has 25 splines. 66 has 28.
