1967 Main Dash Wiring Harness
« on: March 25, 2023, 02:51:46 PM »
Looking for a new Alloy Metal Products repo under dash harness for 1967 Mustang.  I'll consider any configuration GT/Tach or non GT w/o tach.  All suppliers are on backorder

Thanks

Why not recondition a original? I have restored 35 Mustangs and have always used the originals. If you do not want to do it Midlife here does a great job.

The Alloy Metal wire harness was out of stock last year...just FYI.  So you need to find another solution.  Using an original is not a bd option if you can go down that route.

I am confused as how you could consider EITHER with tach or without tach since the headlamp harness and alternator harnesses all are unique to each option.

I am replacing all of the wiring in the car.  Since the under dash is the only NEW item not available I will accommodate the remaining harnesses to what is available.

I have some non-tach harness as well. Midlife can change them into tach ones.

Depending upon what the doctor says tomorrow when I see him, and when my new wife recovers from her hip surgery scheduled for Thursday, the mid-April date may change.

Usually, the selection of which wire harness to use depends entirely upon the dash cluster one has.  I always advise folks who want to upgrade to the tach dash cluster to first procure it, as it will be the most expensive piece for sure!
The only other thing to worry about on a 67 is if it is a very early model, which has 4 separate leads for the foot washer vice later models which has a 4 pin connector.

I may have an extra under wire tach GT fog light wire harness.  Original but not sure condition unless I dig it out.
Wasnt there one vendor out there making wire harness that is just like the original but the fuse box is a modern style versus the original style?  Not concours correct but doest sound like your worried about that, but functional if thats your goal.
