Verifying an X code
« on: April 21, 2011, 07:57:38 PM »
Anyone know what the casting number on the manifold should be? VIN stamp on the back of the block is incredibly difficult to get to on the FE with the engine in, the correct part number would be an easy indicator....

Also, what was the OEM 2V carb? Holley or 2100?

Just bought a 68 X code coupe, looks like a reasonably solid survivor and wondering if the engine is original as the seller stated...

Any and all info on these cars appreciated, not a lot of info I can find.

Don't have a picture handy of an X code with the air cleaner out of the way ;(

The carb would have been an Autolite 2100

You can often get a relief of the VIN using something like Play-Doh spread over the area

The intake manifold should be a C8TE-9425-A.
