Pintonka Rivet Tool
« on: May 17, 2023, 12:32:53 PM »
I need to buy a tool for installing the semi-tubular rivets in the various parts that use them and came across this one which looks to really be high quality, which it should be for $100.  They are made for Tonka, Nylint, etc toy truck restoration, but I don't see any reason it won't work for our needs.  Has anyone used one of these or see a reason that it won't work for our parts?

Thanks.

I've used tools and rivets from these two companies - Hansen Rivet and Supply https://www.hansonrivet.com/ and Jay-Cee Sales And Rivets inc https://rivetsinstock.com/ for many years. The advantages are their large rivet inventories and many types of rivet tools and dies. I've adapted their rivet dies to be used with a Harbor Freight arbor press that was used to restore 64-66 ash trays and several radiator grill restoration.
That's just for cars. I made some heat shields for my outdoor grill.
The "fun" part of this is figuring out how to do something today that you thought was impossible yesterday.
